Middlesex County ZIP Code Directory

The Middlesex County ZIP code directory helps sort a full address into its postal service area before a property, deed, or historical record is checked. Start a ZIP code search with the complete street address, then keep the postal city separate from the municipality that holds the record. Postal labels are useful for narrowing a search, but they do not replace the parcel, tax district, or legal description used by county systems. A carefully checked address avoids merging nearby communities that share a familiar place name.

Middlesex County ZIP Code Coverage

This Middlesex County postal-area directory is a working inventory of postal areas represented in the research. It is not an official municipality-boundary dataset. The United States Postal Service controls the ZIP returned for a deliverable address, and a ZIP can serve a neighborhood, a portion of a municipality, a post-office route, or a special assignment. Verify every specific address before connecting it to a parcel, organization, or historical source.

The inventory includes ordinary delivery areas as well as PO, route, and special assignments. It should be read as service-area context for a ZIP code directory, never as a current-person list or as proof that postal and municipal boundaries match.

Search Middlesex County ZIP Codes USPS First

USPS is the controlling source for the ZIP and postal city assigned to a deliverable address. Its lookup offers By Address, By City and State, and a cities-by-ZIP mode. Use the full street address first, preserve the returned postal form, then move to the municipality and tax district for property or government-record work. The result confirms postal routing, not that a particular person or organization is associated with the address.

  1. Enter the complete street address in the USPS By Address route, including an apartment or suite when relevant.
  2. Record the returned postal city and ZIP exactly as displayed, then compare that label with the legal municipality.
  3. Find the municipal district and parcel identifiers in the assessment or GIS system.
  4. Use town, party, block and lot, parcel, or legal description in the County Clerk records system if the next question concerns a recorded document.
  5. Keep a directory or newspaper result dated, because an older postal label can differ from a current municipal label.

USPS ZIP Code Lookup is the address-level starting point. Once the area is narrowed to a street, the Middlesex County street directory route handles the fuller address-record chain.

Middlesex County Assessment Fields

The county-linked New Jersey assessment search is organized by municipal district, not by postal ZIP. Select the database, county, and district before choosing search and output formats. The visible criteria are shown below. A ZIP criterion is not exposed on that assessment screen, so it cannot produce a complete ZIP-wide property result. Assessment data identifies a tax record and should not be treated as proof of current occupancy.

Database, county, districtInitial selections; districts 1201 through 1225 correspond to the county's 25 municipalities.
Search format and output formatControls selected before the criteria form becomes useful.
List items per pageVisible output control.
LocationAddress-oriented criterion.
Owner nameNamed assessment-record criterion.
Block, lot, qualifierParcel identifiers used to connect assessment, GIS, and deed research.
ZIPNo criterion exposed in the reviewed assessment interface.

The Middlesex assessment search shows the database, district, format, and location or parcel-oriented controls.

The screen is useful after USPS and municipality checks have identified the right district. It does not provide a ZIP-wide resident portal or a ZIP-wide people search.

Middlesex County ZIP Code Boundaries

Postal geography and city limits do not line up neatly in Middlesex County. Fords and Iselin are postal communities in Woodbridge; Dayton and Kendall Park are postal communities within South Brunswick; Parlin is within Sayreville; and Monmouth Junction is a postal or community label within South Brunswick. Edison also has several delivery assignments. A postal label is therefore a search clue, not a substitute for the municipality that maintains a local record.

The County GIS Division and the municipal authorities route parcel mapping questions. GIS data can locate parcel geometry and block or lot context, while the assessment record provides the tax-district connection. The County Clerk's land-record search uses town, party, parcel, lot and block, map, or legal-description fields, rather than a ZIP-wide resident list.

Middlesex County ZIP Code Definitions

Postal terms help explain why several entries in the inventory need a USPS confirmation. They describe delivery organization, not legal title or municipal jurisdiction.

ZIP
The postal routing code USPS returns for a deliverable address or assignment.
ZIP+4
An added delivery-segment detail attached to the base ZIP. It is address-specific and should be confirmed through USPS.
PO Box or unique ZIP
A code used for a post-office, route, institution, or special assignment. It may not describe ordinary street delivery for a whole municipality.
Carrier route
A delivery-route grouping used by the postal system; it is not a municipal boundary or a substitute for a parcel identifier.

Middlesex County ZIP Code Portal Limits

No authoritative local portal located in the research returns every record or person for one ZIP in a single query. The GIS route is parcel and map based. The state voter-status form is person and status oriented, not a public ZIP browse. The County Clerk's Official Records Public Search uses record, town, party, parcel, and legal-description fields. Each tool has a role, but none turns a postal area into a complete resident index.

The municipality matters after a ZIP is identified. Middlesex County has 25 municipalities, each with its own local custodian for many permits, code files, and other local materials. Use the county municipality directory or the appropriate municipal office when a postal label spans a local-government boundary.

Middlesex County Parcel Routing

For a property question, preserve three different address forms: the situs address where a parcel sits, the tax mailing address for notices, and the USPS delivery address. They can differ. Block, lot, and qualifier are the steadier bridge between GIS, the assessment search, and recorded deeds. A deed can instead use a subdivision name, metes and bounds, a condominium unit, or a recorded map reference.

Middlesex County GIS links to county geodata, web applications, and static maps. Use its parcel layer as a visual lead, then verify the legal description in the assessment or deed system. The research did not confirm a single countywide public permit or code search, so requests for those records belong with the relevant municipal custodian.

Middlesex County ZIP Code Requests

When an online search cannot answer a record-specific question, direct the request to the named custodian. The county's OPRA guidance says requests normally receive a response within seven business days, subject to the record and circumstances. Identify the municipality, date range, record type, address or parcel identifier, and preferred form of access. Ask for segregable non-exempt material where a record contains protected fields.

Middlesex County's OPRA request route is the county fallback, while municipal requests belong with the municipality that holds the record. The New Jersey Open Public Records Act, P.L. 2001, c.404, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., does not require an agency to create a new ZIP-wide list or disclose protected information.
